Last Friday, I attended my third–and last–preschool graduation in three years, see left. My black mascara failed me at all of them. This one was especially touching because my youngest is headed to kindergarten in the fall. And he performed a song that reduces me to blubbers even on my best days: I Don’t Want to Live on the Moon by Ernie and Shawn Colvin, see below.
Thank you to Park Street Academy for a fantastic and inspired year. And thanks to MMO Programs for the sweet and special two years before. I hear most of our area’s amazing preschools held their moving up ceremonies last Friday.
My days of preschool are over, and I will miss them. I will miss the personalized attention to my son and to me. I will miss learning to cut with scissors and memorizing the alphabet now that we are ready to embark on a new developmental stage. Mostly, though, I will miss the friends we made as we grow up and go our separate ways.
