Montclair’s annual Township 4th of July Picnic is just around the corner. The festivities will be held immediately following the parade at Edgemont Park on Wednesday from 12:30-3pm. Enjoy live music and a variety of refreshments by Church Street Catering and Applegate Farms.
Musicians scheduled to play include Carrie Cantor, Malcolm Marsden, Dr. Julian Paul Keenan, Guitaro 5000 & Straight Nasty, Bob Cannon, Michael Reitman, Daniel McBride-13 Hands, Meg Beattie and a few surprise guests like last year’s Billy Karcher of the Fabulous Flemtones, who may just show up again to play this year.
This year’s Picnic also is a designated food-drop donation site for the Montclair Human Needs Pantry, which will celebrate its 25th year of service in Montclair this September. “We appreciate all donations, year round, especially in the summertime when schools are closed,” said Deanna London, Director. “Families we service need to provide extra meals for their children in the summer. We accept canned and boxed goods, soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, detergents, toilet tissue and shopping bags. Certain perishable items are welcome, such as fresh vegetables, fruit and bread.”
