For sports broadcaster wannabes, what could be better? Over 50 students participated in the 11th annual Bruce Beck and Ian Eagle Sports Broadcasting Camp at the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center this past week, gaining actual experience and invaluable insight from guest professionals.

For Beck, the longtime WNBC sports anchor, and Eagle, a CBS Sports and Nets broadcaster, the week-long experience is their way of “training their successors,” joked Beck.

The students took field trips to media outlets, did their own broadcasts, and gained career advice from pros such as Kim Jones (NFL Network), Kenny Albert and Tina Cervasio (MSG Network), Chris Carino (Nets broadcaster).

The campers were also treated to special visits from former Super Bowl hero David Tyree, as well as the man who made the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center necessary- Yogi  himself.
