Montclair, and the surrounding towns, now have their own concierge for Jewish families and her name is Emmy Atlas. She’ll let you know about family programs and help you to make friends with others who share your interests.
Emmy was raised and lives in Livingston with her husband, 16 year old daughter and 13 year old son. They belong to Temple Beth Shalom in Livingston where Emmy has held PTA board, Sisterhood board and Temple Board of Trustees positions. She teaches religious school at the Summit JCC and has spent eight summers working at the Gesher Summer camp in several different capacities. So if anyone was right for the Jewish Family Concierge position, it’s Emmy!
Emmy tells us that she hopes, “to be able to find many young Jewish families in the greater Montclair area who are not currently involved in Jewish life and connect them to each other as well as to the many opportunities, organizations and activities that the Jewish community has to offer. I hope to put together playgroups, storytimes, and other activities which will give area Jewish families, both traditional and non traditional, with very young children, an opportunity to meet one another and create their own traditions and customs while fostering a positive Jewish identity for their families.”
