Incident: Attempt Burglary
Description: Officer Timothy Faranda was dispatched to Midland Ave. to take a report of an attempted burglary. The victim reported that their alarm had been activated so they notified police, and discovered that a first floor window screen had been removed and the suspect had attempted to open the window but was scared off by the alarm. Incident: Driving While Intoxicated/Arrest
Description: Officers were dispatched to Hillside Ave. on a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a vehicle and the front steps of a home. As officers arrived the suspect vehicle, a Jeep wrangler, had fled the scene. Officers quickly notified Bloomfield Police that the vehicle was heading towards their town. Bloomfield Police stopped the suspect vehicle on Linden Ave. after it had crashed into several more vehicles in their town. Colin Melhuish, 30 of Bloomfield, N.J. was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to Mountainside Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and charged with criminal mischief, refusing a breath test, and several motor vehicle summonses.

Incident: Burglary/ Theft
Description: Officer Timothy Faranda and Sgt. Carlos Alvarez were dispatched to the 200 block of Forest Ave. on a report of a burglary. The victim reported that at approximately 4:15 AM they heard a noise on the first floor of the residence. After looking the victim observed that unknown suspect removed a first floor air conditioning unit from the window and entered the home. The suspect went through several areas of the residence removing personal belongings. Det. Anthony Mazza responded to process the scene for evidence. Anyone with information can contact Det. Description: Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Forest Ave. to take a report of burglary and theft. The victim reported that they were away for the weekend and came home to discover that their garage was broken into and removed two bicycles. Description: Officer Daniel Manley was dispatched to Woodland Ave. to take e a report of a theft. The victim reported their bicycle was stolen from the Glen Ridge Train Station during the day. The bike was valued at $800.oo.
During this week the Glen Ridge Police Department investigated (6) motor vehicle accidents which resulted in no injuries.
