Relive Your Teen Years At Montclair Film Festival’s Screening of The Breakfast Club

If you don’t go to Montclair Film Festival’s free outdoor screening of the best 80s movie, The Breakfast Club, then you’re a  “neo maxi zoom dweebie.”  Sorry to be harsh, but you will be if you miss the last in the Cinema Montclairismo series.

While it’s difficult to choose from all the awesome John Hughes films, The Breakfast Club is my favorite. When I first saw the film, I felt so understood. I even had a huge crush on a kid in my class who looked so much like Judd Nelson’s character.

“To the outside world they were simply the Jock, the Brain, the Criminal, the Princess and the Kook, but to each other, they would always be the Breakfast Club.”

The 1985 coming of age movie will be screened in the Montclair State University Ampitheater. Bring your blankets (no lawn chairs allowed) and enjoy! There will be live music by The No Rehearsals pre-show at 8 pm.

  1. That movie was rated R because of drug use in 1985. I thought of it Monday night while I was watching a down-and-out dad take meth on Intervention. Not sure if this useless bit of trivia shows progress.

Also, I thought of Breakfast Club recently because Molly Ringwald has a new novel out called When It Happens to You. Would you read a book by Claire?
