Tomorrow, October 16, is the last day to register to vote in New Jersey for the November presidential election.
On Tuesday, township clerk offices in Montclair, Bloomfield, Cedar Grove, West Orange, Maplewood and Little Falls will have extended voter registration hours until 9:00 p.m.; and in Glen Ridge until 8:00 p.m. In Verona, there no late hours but completed forms can be placed in a drop-box during outside the clerk’s office throughout the evening. There are no extended hours scheduled in South Orange.
According to the Montclair municipal clerk’s website, “To register to vote in New Jersey you must be: a United States Citizen; at least 18 years old by the next election; a resident of your home county for 30 days before the election.”
October 30 is the deadline for registered voters to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot, for any reason. Complete details on all aspects of voting in New Jersey are available at the state’s voter information website.
