UPDATE at 3:45 pm: From MHS:

At approximately 2:05 PM, the main building at Montclair High School lost power.  Emergency lighting was activated throughout the building and administrative staff and security announced a “Shelter In Place” for all students and staff.  At approximately 2:23 PM, all students were dismissed from school and all afterschool activities in the main building were cancelled.  Varsity football and Girls soccer were moved to the annex gyms from practice.  The power was restored at 2:40 PM.  We plan on a regular day of school tomorrow, Thursday, November 8, 2012.

UPDATE at 3:30 pm: Breaking News Network just announced: Power outage in the area causing the cancellation of all classes at Bloomfield College

Two schools that we are aware of have lost power again:

Montclair High School and Park Street Academy on Park Street:

From Montclair Public Schools: Montclair High School has lost power and will close early at 2:20 PM today, Nov. 7. All after school activities in the main building are cancelled. Girl’s soccer and football teams will practice in the Annex gyms.

Park Street Academy is asking all parents to pick up their children immediately.
