Montclair Benefit Event to Aid Jersey Shore Recovery

Montclair TV34 has joined forces with Montclair PBA Local 53, Parents Who Rock, Prudential New Jersey Properties and the many talented and generous local musicians to present Shore Aid – a live event to benefit the victims of super storm Sandy.

The Shore Aid benefit will be held Sunday, December 2, beginning at 12:00 noon in Montclair Municipal Chambers, 205 Claremont Avenue. It will feature music performances, special guests and an auction – all to be televised live on TV34 and streamed on the channel’s website, montclair.peg.tv.

Cash and check donations will be accepted at the event, which is open to the public. Tables will be set up to take credit card donations as well. All proceeds will go to benefit victims of Sandy in some of the state’s hardest hit shore towns: Seaside Heights; Normandy Beach; Ocean Beaches I, II, III; and Ortley Beach. Those who donate $250 or more will present their checks live on TV34 at the event.

Admission to Shore Aid performances is free, but event sponsors ask that attendees bring a new toy or a gift card to be donated to Operation Jersey Shore Santa – an organization created to bring the holidays to New Jersey families displaced by the storm.

Montclair’s own Alma Schneider of Parents Who Rock and Take Back the Kitchen is organizing the talent for the Shore Aid benefit. Numerous performers have offered to donate their time and talent to make Montclair’s Shore Aid benefit a huge success. The schedule of performances can be accessed here.
