Incident: Hindering Apprehension Arrest
Description: Officer Ryan Schwartz arrested Anthony McDowell, 44 of Orange, N.J. for providing false information to police officers, to hinder his apprehension, during a motor vehicle stop on Bloomfield Ave. Mr. McDowell was transported to headquarters for processing and later released.

Incident: Fraud
Description: Officer Christopher Grogan was dispatched to Oakwood Ave. on a report of a fraud. The victim reported that an unknown suspect has been making numerous charges on a Macy’s credit card. The information was turned over to the detective bureau for investigation.

Incident: Warrant Arrest
Description: Officer Christopher Grogan arrested Neil Lori, 45 of Glen Ridge for an outstanding Glen Ridge criminal warrant. He was processed at headquarters and was held for court.

Incident: Burglary/Theft Arrest
Description: Sgt. Merritt Carr, Officer Charles Roberts, Officer Christopher Grogan and D/Sgt. Dean Gnardellis were dispatched to Forest Ave. on a suspicious person. A resident called into police reporting a black male in his early 20’s walking up and down the street on Outlook Place. Another resident reported the same man walking on Essex Ave. acting suspicious carrying a large bag going into Bloomfield. Officers started checking the area for the man when D/Sgt.Gnardellis located him on Broad St. in Bloomfield. During this investigation it was revealed that a residence on Forest Ave. had been burglarized and property removed.
Henry Smith, 21 of Roselle, N.J. was arrested for burglary, trespassing, and theft. He was transported to headquarters for processing and admitted to entering the house on Forest Ave. Officer Roberts located the stolen property that the suspect had taken from the house. Mr. Henry was transported to the Essex County Jail in Newark, N.J. being held on $10,000 bail.
During this week the Glen Ridge Police Department investigated (4) motor vehicle accidents which resulted in one injury.
