Sure, we’ve happily enjoyed breakfast, lunch and brunch at Toast Montclair, but when we heard the favorite Bloomfield Ave. eatery was branching out to offer weeknight dinners, we wanted to get a taste.

The dining room was hopping with a mix of couples and families on a recent Friday night. It turned out to be a perfect choice for our group — kids opted to have breakfast for dinner, while the grownups chose from the dinner specials — a satisfying, build-your-own shrimp stir fry and an excellent piece of salmon — as well as a favorite from the regular menu, the lobster cobb salad. There were also pasta choices as well as gluten free dishes.

What we liked: Great service, relaxed atmosphere and a menu with something for everyone. And don’t forget dessert.
