A three day weekend—my favorite kind! There are great family events and ways to serve in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and there are other great ways to have fun this long weekend.
Make sure to check our Calendar to find out all the local happenings and details. And follow us on Facebook and Twitter so you don’t miss all the parenting news, resources and discussion we run daily. And while you’re at it, make sure to sign up for our newsletter!
Here are this weekend’s highlights:
Have a Date Night
Drop off your kids at The Little Gym in Montclair. They’ll have fun and you can enjoy a night your sweetheart. (Friday, January 18) or if you can score a sitter, head to Tierney’s in Montclair Saturday night for the Bullock School fundraiser Bands For Bullock. You’ll enjoy great music, good beer and help out the school. (Saturday, January 19)
See a Concert
Take your choice of family music concerts on Saturday: Moona Luna at Symphony Space in NYC, Tim and the Space Cadets at The Bell House in Brooklyn, or Rolie Polie Guacamole at Montclair Public Library. (Saturday, January 19)
See a Show
There are still tickets available to Fancy Nancy: The Musical at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown. (Sunday, January 20)
Like The Beatles? Then take your family to the Beatles and Bubblegum show at JCC Metrowest’s Maurice Levin Theater in West Orange on Monday. (Monday, January 21)
Take a Day Trip
Take advantage of the long weekend and go on a Day Trip, or two. We have so many great reviews of places to enjoy. Check them out here.
