On Friday night Hat City Kitchen in Orange hosts Days of Rain. The band plays original music, which is a fusion of folk/indie pop and classic rock. Days of Rain is fronted by Swedish-born singer/songwriter Anna Dihne who sings songs she has written, as well as those written by lead guitarist Paul Allegretta. The band’s mix of genres ensures that Days of Rain will guarantee a truly original listening experience for both musicians and general music fans alike.

On Saturday night, head to Tierney’s Tavern to enjoy a pint and some good local music at Bradfest. Four great bands, all featuring Bradford School parents will be playing—Zara Phillips, the Eugene Chrysler Band, Sock Monster and Voodoo Merchants. The music starts at 8 pm and will conclude with the return of the Bradford All-Nighters—other Bradford parent rockers, including Stacia Thiel, Ben St. Jacques, Vik Kapila and Ross Yustein, who will be joining the bands onstage for a a freewheeling jam session guaranteed to get the crowd dancing. All money collected goes to help fund Bradford PTA projects.

Luna Stage’s Music in the Moonlight Jazz Series, which are intimate Sunday concerts featuring local renowned jazz artists, will feature Daniela Schachter this weekend. Schacter moved from Sicily to the United States when she received a scholarship from the Berklee College of Music. Allaboutjazz.com calls her a “beautifully talented composer and pianist with an important touch and a suave mature voice.” The Washington Post describes her piano playing as “fluid improvisation with a soulful touch.” And La Gazzetta del Sud predicts that “she might be the new Diana Krall.”
