Sing Your Song: Harry Belafonte in Person With Montclair Film Festival at NJPAC

Harry BelafonteOn the eve of the 2nd annual Montclair Film Festival, April 28, the organization is proud to partner with NJPAC for a one-of-a-kind documentary event—Sing Your Song.

Sing Your Song gives an intimate look at the wide-ranging career of Harry Belafonte in his own words. Award-winning director Susanne Rostock covers enormous territory from Belafonte’s early years with the American Negro Theater and Greenwich Village folk clubs to his emergence as a star. Through it all, Belafonte maintained a steadfast dedication to battling for human rights, from Harlem to Mississippi to Africa and beyond. This remarkable film, a critic’s pick by The New York Times, inspires us all to do our part. (104 min)

Following the film, MFF Artistic Director, Thom Powers will lead a conversation with Belafonte, Director Susanne Rostock and Producer Gina Belafonte.
