As spring nears, we’ll be hearing more beautiful birdsongs. If you’re interested in learning more about the melodies and behavior of that famous crooner, the warbler, you’re in luck. The Montclair Bird Club will present the video: Warblers of Eastern North America this Wednesday at 7:30pm.

These fair feathered friends pass through New Jersey on their journey from wintering grounds in the raid forests of Central and South America to northern breeding grounds.watching warblers dvd

This is the bird film that set a new standard for action bird photography, according to Michael and Diane Porter of birdwatching.com. The guide is from the award-winning filmmakers Michael Male and Judy Fieth. The duo’s documentary films have been televised by National Geographic, HBO, and PBS’s NOVA and NATURE.

The Montclair Bird Club holds regular meetings at 7:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month, except December, July and August, at the Union Congregational Church, 176 Cooper Avenue, Upper Montclair. This month’s meeting is in the Chapel in the Vincent Building.

The meetings are free and open to the public. For further information, contact Wayne Greenstone 908-276-4605.
