Montclair Homes For Sale: 31 Marquette Road, Russian Spies House, Listed at $444,900The home of Montclair’s Vladimir and Lydia Guryev (aka Cynthia and Richard Murphy) at 31 Marquette Road has been listed for $444,900 (taxes are $14,238).

As a local realtor predicted, the description of the home, listed with Fast Track Real Estate, (not Maxwell Smart), mentions nothing about Montclair Russian spies, spy cameras or a cone of silence.

Possible Structural Issue

Nothing about those amazing hydrangeas or a kitchen perfect for baking Statue of Liberty cookies? Still, maybe someone will break open a tin of caviar if there’s an open house.

Despite the property being forfeited by the Murphys, the spies are still listed here as the owners:

  1. One can only imagine what “possible structural issues” translates to in real estate speak.

  2. I wouldn’t be bothered by the previous owners so much as the “as is” and “structural damage” descriptions

  3. .. yeah, and the ‘illegal’ sub-basement with escape tunnel may need to have a CO issued – good luck with that.

  4. So, comrade Walleroo, let us talk about differences between Americansky termites and Roosky termites. Da?

  5. I would say the structural issues might stem from the underground “recording studio” being built to the usual vodka standards, and it must have been a massive undertaking as Zillow has no interior details yet lists it as having 99,999 sq. ft. hmmmmmm

  6. I was thinking there must be some loose soil in the basement where all the bodies are hidden….

But I like the idea of an escape tunnel better. There are times when the teenagers make me wish I had one of my own!
