It’s a Wash! Dog Wash to Benefit Local Animal Shelter

Natalie Ackerman and Cristina Rene PilegoIf your dog has been celebrating the beautiful weather by wallowing in the mud in Brookdale Park, not to worry. Just bring him to the Friends of Montclair Township Animal Shelter (FOMTAS) Dog Wash on Sunday, May 5, at Montclair Feed and Pet Supply, from 11 a.m through 4 p.m.

There will be two tubs and two drying stations in the back of the store plus the family of each dog washed at the even twill receive an entry ticket for a door prize, a “doggy bag” donated by the store.

The fee for each dog is $20 and all proceeds will go to benefit FOMTAS, a not-for-profit organization that supports the Shelter’s work by raising awareness of its adoptable animals, educating the community on responsible and humane companion animal care, and assisting in connecting the shelter’s animals with loving families. Labor will be supplied by student volunteers from Montclair High School. Joel Tabor, owner of Montclair Feed and Pet Supply, has generously donated the use of his tubs as well as the dog shampoo.
