Four awesome acts performed last Friday evening at Outpost in the Burbs in Montclair. The showcase also included a wine tasting hosted by Angelbeck’s of Montclair.
Artists included Jann Klose, who performs the singing voice of Tim Buckley in the new movie “Greetings From Tim Buckley; Rebecca Jordan, who has written for John Legend and Kelly Clarkson, and performed at The Kennedy Center in their “Next generation of Songwriters” series; Sierra Noble, whose songs you’ve heard on numerous TV shows including “Parenthood” and “One Tree Hill”; and Lipbone (a contraction of “lip” and “trombone”) Redding, who combines New Orleans swing, Memphis soul and New York Style.
Here’s an excerpt from Lipbone’s blog post on the event:
Outpost In The Burbs is one of those coveted gigs that songwriters hear other songwriters talk about. Mystical utterances backstage and murmurings among the dark clubs of New York City say that there are places in the suburbs where the audiences focus all of their attention on the artist, applaud good performance readily and buy many, many units of merchandise. I have been wanting to play Outpost for years…
