Ask Holly: Ice Cream Pizza

Ice cream—awesome. Pizza—super awesome. Ice cream pizza—off the hook yumalicios!

Summer is on and the kids need a break from their normal routines. This Ice Cream Pizza is easy to make and fun for  kids to help create. I scream, you  scream, we all scream for Ice Cream Pizza!

Ice Cream Pizza:

  • A pizza pan or a springform pan
  • Sugar or chocolate chip cookie dough  (30 oz.)
  • Ice cream in any flavor
  • Jam (optional)
  • Candies such as Dots, Swedish fish etc.
  • Sprinkles

Ice Cream Pizza

Take about 3/4 of the dough and press it into the bottom of your spring form pan or, if oyu like a thick crust, all of the dough on a pizza pan. Bake at 350° for about 20-25 minutes. Let cool or put it in the freezer to speed up the cooling process. Use the rest of the dough to make a smaller pizza in a smaller pan.

Ice Cream PizzaSpread ice cream over the cooled dough. If your ice cream starts to become too soft, just put back in the freezer to harden. To give the effect of tomato sauce heat about 3/4  cup of strawberry jam so it is a bit runny and spread over the ice cream.

Roll over Dots candy to make pepperoni and pepper shapes. Top with candy and sprinkles, cut with a pizza cutter and take pictures of those big smiles with your camera!

My kids thought this was a super special treat and it was one of the easiest desserts I have ever made.
