The following Montclair crime report was provided by Detective Lieutenant Angel L. Roman Jr., Detective Bureau Commander, Montclair Police Department:

Thefts:

On 06/11/2013 at 0901 hours, officers responded to an Inwood Avenue address on a stolen bike report.  The homeowner did not recall the make or model but informed officers that it was a black mountain bike with large wheels (approx $200 value) and it was stolen from their garage.  The bike was last seen approx a month ago in the garage.

On 06/13/2013 at 0034 hours, officers took a report of a stolen bicycle.  The complainant informed officer that he secured his green John Deere racing bike to the bike rack at the Walnut Street Train Station on June 12th at about 2100 hours.  It was secured with a cable and master lock. When he returned at 2330 hours the cable had been cut and the lock and cable were lying on the ground and bicycle was missing.

Vandalism:

On 06/10/2013 at 1256 hours, officers responded to a Mission Street address on a vandalism call.  The resident reported to officers that at approx 0100 hours a large rock was thrown through a window of her second floor apartment.  She had no suspects.  She did hear a car speed away.

On 06/10/2013 at 0741 hours, officers responded to the 100 block of Pine Street on a vandalism report.  The caller informed officers that she parked her black 2004 Land Rover in her driveway at approx 2230 hours on the 9th.  When she went out to the vehicle this morning at 0715 hours all four of her tires had been slashed.

On 06/12/2013 at 1850 hours, officers took a walk in vandalism report.  The complainant informed officers that she parked her black 2007 Toyota Corolla in front of Portray Nail Salon on Grove Street at 1700 hours.  When she returned at 1820 hours she found several scratches on her car.  Scratches were observed by officers on the hood and both sides of the vehicle.

On 06/12/2013 at 2055 hours, officers responded to the area of 22 Oakcroft Avenue on an erratic driver.  Officers arrived and were informed by several witnesses that while in their homes they heard the sound of a crash and then a vehicle speeding away.  Upon inspection by neighbors and officers it appeared a vehicle mounted the curb, ran over some shrubs on one lawn and knocked over part of a fence on another.  A piece of a fog light was left at the scene.  Anyone with information contact the Traffic Bureau.

Arrests:

On 06/10/2013 at 2040 hours, officers responded to Glenridge P.D. to pick up a prisoner wanted for several burglaries in the township of Montclair.  The prisoner had been arrested for burglary in Glen Ridge.  Detectives investigation resulted in charging 21yr old Rasul Palmer of Atlantic City with 11 counts of burglary in Montclair.  Rasul was taken into custody without incident and transported to Montclair where he was held on a $50,000 full cash bail.

On 06/11/2013 at 1902 hours, officers patrolling the area of Mission Street observed a subject known to them to have outstanding warrants for aggravated assault, theft and trespassing.  Officers observed 19 yr old Terrence Acevedo of Bloomfield in front of 26 Mission Street and took him into custody without incident.  Bail was set $5000/500.
