Newark Mayor and special special election Senatorial candidate Cory Booker stopped by Bloomfield’s Democratic headquarters over the weekend to lend his political clout and Garden State star power to endorse Bloomfield mayoral candidate Michael Venezia at a local rally. It’s a big boost for the campaign for Venezia, a native Bloomfield resident, who is currently a one-term Democratic councilman-at-large.
His opponent, Republican candidate Russell Mollica, was apparently unimpressed, according to NorthJersey.com, which quoted him saying, “Bloomfield has too many problems to worry about Mr. Booker endorsing Mr. Venezia.”
