Hope’s Honey Cakes ares the sweetest way to welcome in the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, which arrives on September 4. And sweeter still is the fact that for the last four years, Hope, a Montclair High School Junior, has been baking her heart out for Toni’s Kitchen, which serves hot, nutritious meals and provides other services to those in need in our community. What began as a bat mitzvah project, is now an annual mitzvah, or blessing, for the kitchen. To date, Hope has raised more than two thousand dollars for Toni’s with her delicious cakes.
Made from a special, secret recipe handed down “through one of my grandmothers,” Hope is carrying on tradition with her organic treats. Ingredients include local raw honey, and pastured chicken eggs. The cakes are nut and dairy free. Okay, one secret ingredient can now be revealed: coffee. Buy one and try to guess the rest of the spices she uses!
Hope has extended the ordering deadline to August 31! The cakes cost $10 each and can be picked up from Hope or, for an additional $6 delivered within Montclair. Bulk discounts are available. For more information email here or click here.
