Khalid Khan, of Bloomfield, is currently on trial for the 2011 murder of his estranged wife Shazina Khan, of Montclair, to which he plead not guilty. The Star Ledger reports that Assistant Prosecutor Rachel Gran told jurors this week that blood found on Khalid Khan’s pants and on the driver’s side door of a car he borrowed link him to the slaying of Shazmina Khan.
In 2011 Shazina Khan’s body was found in her apartment in Montclair, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Later that night, her estranged husband Khalid Khan was arrested. The prosecutor’s office said there was a history of domestic complaints. Khan was indicted for the murder of his estranged wife. The indictment alleged Ms. Khan was fatally stabbed in her home. The four-count indictment also charged Khan with two weapons offenses and endangering the welfare of a child—the estranged couple’s 8-year-old daughter was in the house with her mother.
