The Orange Squirrel is hosting its first wine dinner since opening almost five years ago and the debut dinner, on Tuesday, September 17, will bring a young vineyard from Bordeaux, Clos Monicord. Chef Francesco Palmieri chose the vineyard because its special and not a traditional Bordeaux. They offer two wines, Clos Monicord and Les Monicord and the 16 hectacre (39.5 acre) is a family affair with every member of Bakx family involved in the winemaking process.
Chef Palmieri’s menu for the dinner will incorporate the wines in each dish in addition to the pairings. Vineyard owners will be in attendance to personally present the wines. At the event, wines will be offered for a special discounted price (Clos Monicord $40 Les Monicord $30). After the event, they will be available on menu at the regular price.
Meanwhile, tonight, Chef Francesco Palmieri’s appearance on Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen starts at 10 pm.
