Bloomfield Police Blotter: Armed Robbery At Gas Station On Bloomfield Ave., Stolen Audi And Honda, And A Dozen Arrests

Bloomfield Police Department Crime Report for the week of  10-14-2013, provided by Sgt. Anthony J Servedio:


On October 8, 2013 at 11:07 pm, the attendant of a gas station on Bloomfield Ave. reported being robbed at gunpoint while he was pumping gas into what turned out to be the robbery suspect’s vehicle. The victim told investigators that while he was pumping gas into what he described as a 4 door light blue Honda Accord, the suspect, a Hispanic or black male with short hair and trimmed beard, wearing a grey sweatshirt approached him with a silver handgun and said “Give me everything”. The victim turned over what cash he had and the suspect fled in the Honda south on N. 17th St. A search of the area was negative in finding the suspect or his vehicle.

On October 12, 2013 at 11:36 am a 17 year old juvenile from Bloomfield was assaulted and robbed of his cell phone on the corner of State St. and Liberty St.
The victim reported that he was walking home from the bus when he noticed a black male sitting on a bench outside of the Public Library. As the victim walked past the suspect he got up and began to follow. When the 2 men reached the corner of State St. near Liberty St. the suspect assaulted the victim and took his cell phone then ran on foot toward Broad St.
The suspect was described by the victim as being a black male, muscular, wearing a black hoodie, grey sweatpants and black Nike sneakers.
A search of the area was negative in finding the suspect or his vehicle.

10-07-2013 – On Hazelwood Rd. the front door of a residence was forced open and it is unknown at this time what proceeds if any were taken at this time.

10-12-2013 – On the 500 block of Broad St. a shed was burglarized and a Poulan leaf blower was taken.


10-12-2013 – On the 100 block of Willard Ave. a 1996 Toyota was broken into and the car radio was taken.

10-12-2013 – on the 100 block of Franklin St. a 2002 Ford was broken into. A TOMTOM GPS unit, a Satellite Radio unit, and cash were taken from inside of the vehicle.


10-07-2013 – A 2000 Audi with PA license plates was stolen.

10-09-2013 – On the 400 block of Beardsley Ave. a 2000 Honda with NJ license plates was stolen.




10-09-2013 – On the 200 block of Essex Ave. 2 chainsaws, 2 hedge trimmers, and 1 weed whacker were taken from the rear of a dump truck.

10-10-2013 – On George St. 2 leaf blowers were taken from the rear of a pickup truck.

10-10-2013 – On the 300 block of Essex Ave. a RedMax leaf blower was taken from the rear of a truck.

10-11-2013 – On the 400 block of Bloomfield Ave. a 2013 BMW had 4 tires and 4 rims stolen.

10-11-2013 0 – On Carteret St. 20-25 newspapers were taken from in front of a local convenience store.

10-11-2013 – On the 400 block of Franklin St. a victim reported having her purse taken from a break room.


10-11-2013 – On the 200 block of Spruce St. unknown suspect or suspects did damage to a vehicle with spray paint.


On October 12, 2013 Kevin Callery age 28 of Bloomfield was arrested by Officers Stef Barillari and Luca Piscitelli for DUI and theft, on the 1400 block of Broad St.
After being informed by an alert citizen that a male fitting the description of someone wanted for questioning in several thefts of landscaping equipment was near the 1400 block of Broad St. Officer Barillari stopped a vehicle being operated by Mr. Callery.
During an interview with the suspect the Officers developed probable cause to believe the Mr. Callery was driving impaired. After being transported to Police HQ’s to be processed for D.U.I Officers Barillari and Piscitelli also determined that the Mr. Callery may also be involved in several thefts over the past few days, involving stolen landscaping equipment.

Mr. Callery was initially charged with:
➢ D.U.I
➢ D.U.I with-in 1000 feet of school property
➢ Careless driving

A subsequent investigation by Bloomfield Police Department Detective Louis Vitiello, led to Mr. Callery additionally being charged with 3 counts of theft and the recovery of several stolen pieces of landscaping equipment.

A court date of 10/23/13 is pending


10-08-2013 – Jason Farmer age 24 of Monmouth Junction was arrested by Officers Victor Gonzalez and Glenn Capito for an outstanding $1080 Bloomfield warrants. A court date of 10/22/13 is set.

10-08-2013- Johnathan Zamora age 27 of Newark was arrested by Officer Thomas Lutz during a car stop for a motor vehicle violation, for an active warrant out of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Zamora was transported to the Essex County Jail Annex awaiting bail and court.

10-09-2013 – Alexi Martinez age 22 of Newark was arrested by Officer Jannor Navarro for an active $250.00 warrant out of Newark, as well as being issued motor vehicle summonses for driving on the suspended list and being uninsured.

10-09-2013 – Kristy Mycewicz age 31 of West Milford was arrested by Officers Michael McCracken and Jennifer Horn for possession of drug paraphernalia and active warrants.
After responding to a local bar on a call of a disturbance, Bloomfield Officers McCracken and Horn were able to locate the complainant, an employee of the bar, as well as the suspect, Ms. Mycewicz on Watsessing Ave. The complainant made an accusation that Ms. Mycewicz had left the bar without paying her tab. During an interview with the suspect the Bloomfield Officers were able to determine that Ms. Mycewicz in fact had 2 outstanding warrants, one from Wayne Twp. for $1033.00 and one from West Milford Twp. for $350.00. During the arrest process Ms. Mycewicz was found to be in possession of what appeared to be a glass pipe used to smoke CDS and some other paraphernalia commonly used to smoke CDS. Ms. Mycewicz was transported to Police HQ’s where she was charged with the paraphernalia possession and released to Wayne PD to answer for her charges and warrant there. A court date of 10/17/2013 was set for the Bloomfield charges.

10-09-2013 – Michael Street age 33 of Orange was arrested by Officer Devin Lopez for an active $183.00 warrant out of East Orange.
During an investigation of a possible trespassing that had just occurred, Mr. Street was stopped as a suspect and during an interview by Officer Lopez, it was learned that Mr. Street had the outstanding warrant.

10-11-2013 – Pamela Holy age 46 of Bloomfield was picked up from the Paterson Police Department and transported to Bloomfield Police HQ’s by Officers Anthony Nardiello and Stef Barillari for an active $1190.00 warrant.

10-11-2013 – Glenn Kline age 25 of Bloomfield was arrested by Officers Thomas Lutz and Mel Pascua for an active $350.00 warrant out of Parsippany.

10-12-2013 – Michelle Cordero age 27 of Bloomfield was arrested by Officer Jannor Navarro for outstanding warrants out of Bloomfield and the Essex County Sheriff’s Department.
With knowledge that Ms. Cordero had active arrests warrants in her name Officer Navarro stopped her and detained her in the area of Franklin St. and Weaver Ave. Ms. Cordero was placed under arrest for the active warrants and transported to Police HQ’s.
During the arrest process it was determined that Ms. Cordero also had in her possession CDS which she was charged with and she also attempted to destroy property that was being placed into evidence which she was also charged with.
The Honorable Judge Vincent Prone was contacted and set bail at $30,000.00 with a court date of 10/23/2013 pending.

10-12-2013 – Oludare Campbell age 39 of Bloomfield was arrested by Officer Edward Clark in for an active warrant out of Belleville.

10-13-2013 – Michael Napolitano age 32 from Shamong NJ was arrested by Officer Joseph Corio for active warrants out of The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, Belleville and Barnegat.
While on duty Officer Corio was approached by several customers at a local hardware store that a male was attempting to sell store gift cards at a substantially discounted price. Officer Corio and Officer Lutz located the male, Mr. Napolitano and during an interview determined that he had the existing warrants mentioned above.
After transporting the arrestee to Bloomfield HQ’s and securing the proper evidence Mr. Napolitano was transported to Ocean County Jail for housing until he could answer for his charges there or post bail.
