The Glen Ridge High School Marching Band steps off for its last competition of the 2013 season this Sunday, November 3 at Bloomfield’s 32nd Fall Marching Band Invitational, held at the Foley Field stadium. Still glowing from their “Gold” rating at the Wayne Hills competition earlier in October, the GR Marching Band looks to end its season with another excellent review.
“We knew we could do it, and now there’s no holding back,” said Kevin Lagos, GRHS Band Director. “The students have had a great season and want it to end with their highest scores yet. We’re definitely ready to bring home a win!”
The Glen Ridge Music Parents Association will be on hand and encourages the Glen Ridge community to attend; Glen Ridge fans will be congregating in the bleachers at the 50-yard line – cowbells, whistles, and boisterous cheering are all welcome!!
Including the GRHS Marching Band, fifteen bands from across the state will compete, closing with an exhibition performance by the Bloomfield High School Marching Band and the awards ceremony. The festival is open to the general public; gates open at noon and the competition starts at 12:45. Early arrival is suggested. Admission is $12 for adults; $10 seniors; $5 for students and children. All proceeds support the Bloomfield High School Band program.
