WINNER: Congratulations to montclairdad!

Thanksgiving will be here in exactly two weeks! After Christmas, it’s my favorite holiday. I love the food and the reflection on what I should be thankful for. This year, I’m thankful to have my parents, in-laws and close family friends join us at our home.

I’m so excited to offer this giveaway to you. Kings Food Markets has very generously offered to give one very lucky Barista Kids reader a Gift Card worth $300 toward the purchase from the Kings Thanksgiving Menu 2013! Now that’s something to be thankful for.

You can build your Thanksgiving menu a la carte, with choices such as Lobster Bisque, Apricot-Rosemary Glazed Boneless Turkey Breast, Cornbread Bacon Stuffing, Whipped Sweet Potatoes, and Cranberry Orange Relish.

Or you can order a complete Thanksgiving Dinner for up 18 at $249.99. You’ll get a turkey and turkey breast 3 sides and 2 extras.

I am thankful for the peoples to whom this land belongs, the ones who welcomed the first immigrants, showed them how to live in this environment, shared their food and even their autumn celebrations.

I am saddened by how terribly those peoples were subsequently treated, for whom not a single treaty was respected, and eventually suffered one of the greatest genocides in history.

Thanksgiving reminds us how this country was built.

So blessed and thankful for a beautiful family, and being able to help a loved one struggle through some serious issues. Follow up mammogram and ultrasound more promising than last year’s for me, although it’s a waiting game. Gorgeous new daughter in law came into the family in July. Looks just like me, just in a much younger and taller redheaded version! We’re lucky to have a nice home, many wonderful friends & neighbors, all the food we need or want. Plus the ability to do some huge spending for the holidays on the little grands. All in all, it’s a wonderful life!

  22. POSTED BY montclairdad  |  November 14, 2013 @ 4:04 pm

Thankful that our teens share just enough with my wife and me for us to realize that they seem to get it and are apparently headed down the right path. Oh and apple pie, I’ll always be thankful for apple pie.

I am thankful for my mother and mother-in-law. All my grandparents either passed away before I was born, or before I had memory of them. I never knew the joys of grandparents, so I never missed it…until I had kids of my own. What a wonderful thing grandmothers are! Besides that fact that we’ve gone eleven years without never had to worry about finding a responsible babysitter, I feel lucky that my kids have had so much time together with their grandmothers, who they adore.

Love the avatar sillyphus. John DiMaggio, the voice of Bender, and a thousand other cartoon characters, was a college friend.

SSP… love the character and the voice, it does beg the question though, which warped whom more? (and I think you might have a few good college stories)

(And for a job that still keeps me on my toes after 20+ years.)
