Bloomfield Crime: Burglary, Stolen Vehicles and Several Arrests

Bloomfield Police Department Crime Report provided by Sgt. Anthony J Servedio for the week of 12-30-2013: 


12-24-2013 – On Evans Rd. between 1:00 pm & 8:30 pm a rear window was determined to be the point of entry for a burglary in which cash and jewelry were taken from the home.

12-24-2013 – On the 300 block of Sylvan Rd., a rear window was determined to be the point of entry for a burglary in which nothing is believed to have been taken from the home.


12-23-2013 – On Cleveland Terrace a 2001 Toyota was broken into and some loose change was stolen.

12-24-2013 – On the 200 block of N 17th St. a 2005 Nissan was broken into. A rear window was smashed.

12-25-2013 – On LaFrance Ave. a Subaru was broken into and a tool bag was taken.

12-25-2013 – On the 200 block of Newark Ave. a 1997 Toyota was broken into and the car radio was taken.


12-23-2013 – On the 100 block of Washington St. a 2003 Acura with NJ license plates was stolen.

12-26-2013 – On Arlington Ave. a 2013 Toyota with NJ license plates was stolen.


On December 28, 2013 at 8:00 am an 18 year old Newark resident had her purse stolen from her by 2 black male suspects who fled on foot towards Watsessing Park, from the area of Bloomfield Ave. and Burroughs Pl. The victim reported that her purse contained a set of keys and approximately $30.00 cash. A search of the area proved negative in finding any suspects.

12-26-2013 – Rafael Rezzonico age 37 of Cedar Grove was arrested by Officer’s Luca Piscitelli and Anthony Piccinno for DWI at 4:59 am on Abington Ave. near Grove St.

12-27-2013 – Matthew Ferrara of Freehold was arrested by Officer James Romano for DUI at 6:33 pm on the 200 block of Montgomery St. after he had been involved in an accident where his vehicle struck several parked cars


On December 23, 2013 at 9:11 pm Officers responded to Beekman St. to serve an arrest warrant on Justin Griffin age 26 of Bloomfield. When the Officers arrived at the house they believed Mr. Griffin was staying in they were met by Ms. Robin Kelly age 47 of Bloomfield who is Mr. Griffin’s mother. Ms. Kelly insisted that Mr. Griffin was not in the house but the Officer’s became suspicious when the heard noises coming from the second floor. The house was checked and Mr. Griffin was found hiding on the second floor. The Officers placed Mr. Griffin under arrest for the warrant and obstruction as well as arresting Ms. Kelly for obstruction and hindering apprehension. Both arrestees were transported to Police HQ’s where ther were processed. The Honorable Judge Vincent Pirone set bail for Mr. Griffin at $37,500.00 or a 10% cash option with a court date of 1/15/14 pending. Ms. Kelly’s bail was set at $5000.00 or a 10% cash option and also has a 1/15/14 court date pending.

12-25-2013 – Malcolm Webb age 19 of Newark was arrested by Officer Keron Piper for an active $500.00 warrant out of Newark. After responding to a call of a motor vehicle accident on Llewellyn Ave. Officer Piper along with other Bloomfield Officer’s located Mr. Webb near a vehicle that had crashed into a tree. Mr. Webb claimed that he was a passenger in the crashed vehicle but was not able to provide the name of the person who was driving the car at the time of the crash. Mr. Webb’s account of what had transpired did not make sense to the Officers and after checking to verify Mr. Webb’s identification the $500.00 warrant was found. Mr. Webb was released on his own recognizance by Newark PD with a court date of 1/8/14 pending.

12-24-2013 – Tammy Johnson of Newark was arrested by for Shoplifting.

12-26-2013 – Tyrique Hogue age 19 of Bloomfield was arrested by Officers Teo Osis and Salvatore Cordi for an active weapons possession warrant out of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department.

After responding to a disturbance call on the 500 block of Bloomfield Ave. the Officers stopped Mr. Hogue and received information that he had the active warrant. Mr. Hogue was placed under arrest, processed in Bloomfield Police HQ’s and then transported to Essex County Jail.

12-27-2013 – David Lee age 52 of Bloomfield was arrested by Officers Nader Sarabamoun and Robert Peters along with Sergeants Andy Zachares and Joseph Berardinelli, for an active non-payment of child support warrant, out of the Sussex County Sheriff’s Department. The Officers located Mr. Lee in a home on the 100 block of Newark Ave. and took him into custody. Mr. Lee was transported to Bloomfield Police HQ’s where he was processed and was waiting to be picked up by the Sussex County Sheriff’s Department.
