Fans of talented Montclair musicians Dunia and Aram Sinnreich who missed Dubistry’s recent Ska and Reggae Party, will get another chance to see the versatile husband and wife team perform on Saturday night.

This time it will be with a different group…Brave New Girl: Fresh cut soul from NYC. BNG has performed with Tamar Kali, Ari Up from the Slits, Fishbone, and Neneh Cherry. (How cool is that?)

The progressive soul collective will return for one night to Drom, dubbed “New York’s premiere venue for world music,” by the Wall Street Journal.

“Come celebrate Hanukkwanzmas with Brave New Girl next at our favorite supper club, DROM. They serve amazing Turkish food!” says Dunia. “We’ll be playing a long set, featuring brand new tunes, plus some of your favorites. Dance, drink, eat, and be merry.”

Along with Dunia and Aram, BNG also features Todd Nocera and Matt Urbania on guitar, Emel Alper on background vocals, and Jeffery Dyke on drums.

Just how many musical ventures are the Sinnreich’s involved with? Along with Dubistry and BNG, the couple form the punky acoustic duo Empire of Two, and Dunia also recently founded dubYoga to create healing music for the body, mind and soul.

When they’re not filling the world with an eclectic mix of groovy, original music, parenting their two beautiful young children–or coming up with awesome band names–Aram is an author and an assistant professor at Rutgers, and Dunia is a federally licensed tax practitioner.

No, I absolutely don’t know how they do it all. Ask them at the concert.
