Parents Who Rock (PWR) invites you to spend an evening with Elvis and Elvis—as a large group of local musicians interpret the music of either Elvis Presley and Elvis Costello—all for a good cause.

The event is set for Saturday, February 8, from 7 to 10 pm at the sanctuary at Bnai Keshet Synagogue, 99 South Fullerton Avenue, in Montclair, and is open to the the public—adults only. Please leave the kids at home!

Over 20 local performers will perform songs from either Elvis Presley or Elvis Costello. You may be dancing to A Little Less Conversion at one moment and then wailing to Alison the next. With songs from two great musical artists, it will be a great night.

This is the third PWR’s tribute  (The first honored Dylan and last year Tom Petty) and each concert raises funds for a good cause. This year all proceeds collected will go to benefit Garden State Equality in Montclair, New Jersey’s largest civil rights organization. Though best know for its successful campaign to win marriage equality in 2013, Garden State Equality has also fought for and won a wide range of other civil rights milestones. Outside of marriage equality, its most recent victory is the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights, a law the organization drafted and for which it led a successful statewide campaign. New Jersey now has the strongest Anti-Bullying law in the United States protecting all children both straight and gay.
