The Montclair 2014 Big Game Festival has added yet another great event to its line-up: The Express — 2008 sports film based on the life of college football hero Ernie Davis — will screen in the Montclair High School Auditorium tomorrow night, January 30, at 7 pm. The film is free and open to the public, and is appropriate viewing for the entire family.
Nicknamed “The Elmira Express,” Ernie Davis played football at Syracuse University, and became the first African-American to win the prestigious Heisman Trophy in 1961, an award presented each year to the nation’s top college football player.
The event includes a special guest appearances by some Syracuse University’s football players. A short question and answer session will follow the movie.
Go celebrate with the 2013 Montclair High School State Championship Football Team, and Syracuse Orange for a night of “Mountie Pride” to kick off Montclair’s “Big Game Winter Festival.
