Montclair students throughout the district spent Martin Luther King Day doing acts of service—a day “on,” instead of off.
Hillside students read to the kids at Live Y’ers vacation camp at the Geyer Family YMCA and collected donations for the Human Needs Food Pantry at Pathmark in Lackawanna Plaza. At Bullock School, Families cooked, packed, and delivered meals, toiletries and artwork to local senior citizens. Everyone enjoyed the Montclair Academy of Dance and Laboratory of Music drummers performance, a performance by MHS’s A cappella band The Passing Notes, and children reciting Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech.
