Montclair Kimberley Academy
Upper School campus in better weather

UPDATE: The Upper School Campus will remain closed through Friday, February 21.

Montclair Kimberley Academy called an emergency closing of its Upper School because of concerns of snow and ice on the roof:

The Upper School is closing due to structural concerns resulting from snow and ice on the roof.

Students will be dismissed from the Upper School Gymnasium, starting at 11:45 a.m. but will be supervised until they can be collected.

Snow and ice accumulations on roofs have been a state wide concern. Several New Jersey schools have had similar issues. A Berkeley Heights school’s roof buckled yesterday and Sparta schools closed yesterday for roof inspections due to concerns.
