The temperatures will warm up, the massive piles of snow will melt and for a few days you’ll feel like coming out of hibernation. Thankfully, there are some great happenings this weekend where you can do just that.
Here are other weekend highlights:
Studio B, a Maplewood-‐based arts organization known for producing innovative, standing-room-only events, is hosting another Story Slam — a knock-‐down, drag —out 5 minute storytelling throw down. Studio B has been hosting regular Story Slams for about 4 years and they have been gaining in popularity. It isn’t unusual to see some local writing celebs bringing their best 5 minute yarns. Here’s how the evening works: writers put their names into a hat, and over the course of the evening, 10 names will be called. At the end of the competition, 3 local literary agents will decide on a winner — and bragging rights will be claimed. The winner will return to the next Slam for a victory lap. Writers out there, you have just enough time to get back into training: brush off that story, give it a good read through, and take your mark on Friday night.
