The celebrations continue at the Montclair Art Museum as MAM honors its Centennial Year and here’s an event you don’t want to miss!
On Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Museum presents Decades, A Century of Fashion, a lecture and luncheon featuring special guest speaker and art historian Cameron Silver.
Cameron Silver is a world-renowned designer, red carpet trendsetter, author, and owner of Decades; a couture vintage boutique that brought a new standard to everyday dress in Hollywood. The Museum welcomes Silver all the way from his L.A. hometown for a luncheon, lecture, and vintage trunk show of his rare couture finds. East coast residents can enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Silver and shop his collection in-person during this specially curated event.
Silver will take each guest though a century of fashion, which will include his inspiration on choosing the right garments for his celebrity clients, his red carpet commentary, and his most recent place in Hollywood as a Bravo hit reality television star on “Dukes of Melrose.”
Named one of Time magazine’s “25 Most Influential Names and Faces in Fashion,” Silver is a favorite pundit on E! Entertainment, the Style Network and “Fashion File.” Pulling looks from Decades’ deep closets, he styles celebrities for major red carpet awards appearances like the Golden Globes, Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards. He has also written about luxury, from shopping to travel to his front row perch at the haute couture presentations, for Harpers Bazaar (UK), C Magazine, Departures, Style.com, and others. Silver recently narrated the fashion documentary Versailles ’73: American Runway Revolution about the legendary 1973 fashion show that heralded American fashion and African-American models like never before.
Guests can also partake in a luxury basket raffle from chic contributors. Items include special packages from Steve Madden, Venture Photography, and Bangz Salon and Spa, and shopping sprees from Montclair boutiques such as Dot Reeder, Barbara Eclectic, My Inheritance, and much more. Guests will also receive fabulous swag bags with gifts from Erno Laszlo, Sweet Home Montclair, and Crown Maple Syrup. Tickets start at $150 per person.
