Wegmans! Two Stores Coming To New JerseyWegmans, the holy grail for some Baristanet food shoppers, has always been more than just slightly out of reach, with its nearest location in Woodbridge.

Now, the Rochester-based supermarket chain with distant locations in New Jersey, just got a little closer. Wegmans announced a list of 10 stores opening in the coming year on its website, and two will be located in New Jersey.

Don’t get too excited — the new stores are still a hike. The two locations will be in Bergen and Morris counties respectively. One is in Montvale (W. Grand Avenue & Mercedes Drive); the other in Hanover Township (I-287 & NJ Route 10).

Two more, even if a hike, yippee! I already go there each weekend in Woodbridge.

Good stuff. Now how about one at either lackawanna plaza or at the A&P!

I always thought that the empty Fortunoff/Borders spot at Wayne Towne Center next to Willowbrook would have been an awesome location for a Wegman’s. My dreams never came true. Now they are finally putting a Dick’s Sporting Goods there after they botched it a decade ago and the Costco is relocating to a new building there.

I'm struck by how much attention is being paid to the details of a parking lot, as opposed to the attention paid to the future impact of the monstrous projects being planned.
