Montclair Art Museum’s spooktakular Fright Night at the Museum II offers a bewitching evening of enticing elixirs and ghoulish delights with even more tricks and treats this year: costume contests, silent auctions, drinks, dancing and more!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

What better way to celebrate Halloween season then at The Rocky Horror Picture Show? Go to a live shadow cast performed by The Home of Happiness of the cult movie fave at the Bowtie Bellevue Cinema in Montclair on Saturday, October 25 at 11 pm. Wear your best Halloween costume and win awesome prizes and don’t forget to buy a prop bag. They will be on sale for $3 and there will also be posters, t-shirts, buttons and stickers for sale.

 Night of the Living Dead LiveinterACT Theatre Productions will present Night of the Living Dead, a hilarious re-production based on 1968 movie by George Romero. The play lovingly examines the movie itself, the period in which it was made, and the film’s undying influence on the horror genre. Night Of The Living Dead Live is a theatrical tribute to all of the elements that make this cinematic masterpiece so endearing. More than just a recreation of the story, the play celebrates the history and influence of the movie.

Philip McNeal Haunt for the HungryFeeling brave? A truly haunting experience awaits at the Philip McNeal Haunt for the Hungry. The community is invited to step into another world and experience serious haunted fun on Saturday, October 25 from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm. The event is named for and honors the late Philip McNeal, former Chairman of the Board of the Human Needs Food Pantry in Montclair, and lover of Halloween fun. John Whipple, who in past years has hosted the haunted adventure “Old Man Whipple’s House” at his home, has also joined the Philip McNeal Haunt for the Hungry and encourages all to come to support Toni’s Kitchen and the Human Needs Food Pantry, “I am thrilled to be part of this event.  So, come out and enjoy.  We expect the Philip McNeal Haunt for the Hungry to become an annual Montclair Event.”

CD Zombienaut

The Porchistas,  the Montclair band who offers “lyrically driven folk, hippy, punk, throwback rock,” will throw their annual Halloween-themed party on Saturday, November 1 at Tierney’s Tavern. They will be sharing the bill with rock duo, Bone & Marrow, made up of  Jenn & Daimon, the previous fronts of Elevator Art, at the Space-Themed party. Also performing will be The Defending Champions playing their unique combination of Ska, Pop, Gypsy, catchy, horn driven dance numbers laced with the style and taste of the guitar of Dean Nevolis & the grit and natural presence of their fearless leader, Matt Ryan. There will be a space-themed costume contest (the most artistically creative costume) and a couples dance contest (one song from each band so get there early). $5 to enter either $8 to enter both.  Cash prizes with all proceeds going to the winners. Judges will be Tierney’s staff.

  1. I am sorry but this town is pathetic – where are the haunted houses? These aren’t kid friendly Halloween activities – why don’t they do the haunted house & hayride at Edgemont park ever again like they did four years ago? Something!
