Montclair

 

Montclair Center Tree Lighting
Friday, December 5 at 6 pm
Listen to music by the Montclair Community Band, have a picture taken with Santa Claus, and enjoy an evening of fun winter entertainment.

Free. Photos with Santa has a fee.

Santa Comes to Town Saturday, December 6
Santa will visit the Business Districts on a Montclair Fire Department fire truck and will have gifts for all youngsters.

  • 11 am – South End Business District (Orange Rd. & Cedar Ave.)
  • 11:30 am  – Walnut Street Lot
  • 12 pm  – Watchung Plaza
  • 12:30 pm – St. James Church (Bellevue Ave. & Valley Road)

 

Santa’s Mailbox
Kids can mail a letter to Santa and will receive a personalized letter in return! Letters can be mailed to:

Letters may also be dropped off at the Montclair Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs. Please remember to include a return address. No letters after Friday, December 12.

A visit from Santa, caroling from The Bloomfield High School and Middle School Choir, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and of course, the Tree Lighting.

Children’s Holiday Program, Saturday, December 13

The Children’s Holiday Program will take place at the Bloomfield Civic Center, 84 Broad St.  The program runs from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and includes refreshments, arts & crafts, face painting and pictures with Santa.  Please bring you own camera for pictures.

House Decorating Contest

All Bloomfield households are invited to share their holiday spirit and creativity. Submit your digital photo and/or entry form via email; mschaffer@bloomfieldtwpnj.com in jpeg form or in person to the Bloomfield Civic Center, 84 Broad Street, by December 12th.  The winner will be announced by December 22nd  and will receive a free family dinner at Angelo’s Restaurant and Pizzeria.

Parent Drop & Shop

Finding it hard to break away to get your holiday shopping done? Can’t find a sitter for a few hours to go to the mall? Let the Bloomfield Recreation Department watch your children at the Bloomfield Civic Center while you fulfill all of your shopping needs!

  • Friday, December 12 from 6 pm- 9:30 pm
  • Friday, December 19 from 6 pm- 9:30pm

This program is offered to all children in grades Kindergarten through Sixth. For a nominal fee of $15.00 per night (includes pizza, soda, games, arts and crafts and much more). Limited space is available, and in-person pre-registration is required during regular business hours.
