Nabucco is an Italian-language opera in four acts composed in 1841 by Giuseppe Verdi to an Italian libretto by Temistocle Solera. The libretto is based on biblical stories from the Book of Jeremiah and the Book of Daniel and the 1836 play by Auguste Anicet-Bourgeois and Francis Cornue.

OTM’s Nabucco will be conducted by Italian maestro Daniele Tirilli, one of the most exciting rising stars of the opera world, who is set to lead only his second ever production on American soil. Other key cast members include international sopranos Rosa D’Imperio, Mithra Mastropierro; mezzo-sopranos Hannah Kramer and Bernadette LaFond; baritones Peter Hakjoon Kim and Samuel Bolshoi; basses Stephan Kirchgraber, Steven Fredericks, Ilberto Lagana and Michael Alworth; tenors Benjamin Sloman, Paolo Bu’agni, Theron Cromer and Benjamin Robinson; and sopranos Allyson Carvajal and Jessica Burr.

The launch of Nabucco represents the culmination of a nearly three year journey for OTM, which was established in 2012 as a brand new concept in community opera and classical music.

Mia Riker-Norrie, OTM Director commented: “When the curtain rises on the opening performance of Nabucco we will realize our vision of presenting opera at a highly professional level but in a far more intimate setting than most fans are familiar with – and with an ensemble of which many hail from the local community.
