This week’s Bloomfield crime blotter from Sgt. Anthony J. Servedio:
3/14/15 – A commercial burglary was reported on the 1400 block of Broad St. where investigators discovered that at 4:10 am two suspects broke the front door lock of a local business. One of the suspects entered the building while the other waited outside as a lookout. The suspect who entered ripped the alarm panel off of the wall and stole an envelope containing over $500.00 dollars from the cash register. The suspect entering the establishment was observed wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt on the video surveillance.
3/10/15 – A 20’ long enclosed landscaping trailer containing approximately $20,000.00 worth of equipment, was stolen from the rear of a property located on the 600 block of East Passaic Avenue. The trailer was parked for the winter and found to be missing on 3/10/2015. A witness observed what is now believed to be some suspicious activity approximately one week ago.
3/16/15 – On Fontaine Ave. a 2009 Honda with NJ license plates was stolen between 1:30 am and 7:54 am.
3/10/15 – Two packages were taken from a residence on the 100 block of N 17th Street on two separate days. The victim reported that packages were stolen on 1/18/15 and 2/21/15. FedEx confirmed delivery and claims that both packages were signed for.
3/11/15 – On the 100 block of Baldwin Place a resident reported that the driver’s side door on her vehicle was scratched between 6:00 am and 7:30 am.
3/11/15 – A vehicle was damaged on the lower end of North Spring Street between 9:00 pm and 10:00 am. The victim reported that an unknown suspect threw a bucket at her vehicle causing damage to the hood and trunk.
3/14/15 – On the lower end of Prospect St. a resident reported that an unknown suspect slashed the front and rear driver side tires on her vehicle at some time during the previous day.
3/10/15 – (15-14440) Zone 3. 98 Broad Street we had a report of an Assault, a female motorist was exiting the driveway of 98 Broad Street when she was approached by 3 black males and 1 Hispanic male who punched her car. She then exited her car to confront them at which time they spit in her face and struck her with their hands. Victim refused medical attention. She describes the Hispanic male as thin with a curly afro / brooke style haircut, gray jacket and a back pack. One of the black males had a green hat on.
3/10/2015 – Daniel Wallace age 28 from Wayne, NJ was arrested by Officer Luca Piscitelli at 1:17 am on Willow Street for DUI, after the Officer developed reason to believe that he had operated his 2014 Toyota Camry while impaired. Mr. Wallace was charged with resisting arrest and issued a summons for DUI before being released ROR with a court date of 3/18/15 pending.
3/14/2015 – Kendrick Castillo age 22 from West Orange, NJ was arrested by Officers Luca Piscitelli and Christian Alvarado at 6:22 am on the 1600 block of Broad St. for DWI, after a motor vehicle stop led the officers to believe that he was operating his 2004 Toyota while impaired. Mr. Castillo was processed, issued summonses for: DWI, Open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and failure to exhibit proof of insurance and released with a court date pending.
3/9/2015 – Helena Spanos age 37 from Bloomfield was arrested by Officers Teo Osis and Matthew Rubbinaccio at 11:09 pm on Watsessing Avenue, after she was found to be in possession of a prescription legend drug without a valid prescription. While interviewing Ms. Spanos it was discovered that she had 3 active outstanding warrants, one from Bloomfield, $250.00, one from Jersey City, $150.00 and one from the City of Orange for $772.00 as well as possessing 2 packages containing one film of Suboxone each. After being placed under arrest Ms. Spanos was transported to Police HQ’s, processed, charged with possession of a prescription legend drug and a bail was set by The Honorable Judge John Paparazzo at $1500.00 full. A court date was set for 3/10/15.
3/11/2015 – Vito Marcogliese age 34 from Watchung, NJ was arrested by Officer Meljunn Pascua at 1:5 am on John F Kennedy Dr. near Montgomery St. for an active $250.00 Bloomfield warrant. Bail was posted and a new court date is pending.
3/11/2015 – James Laborde age 40 from East Orange, NJ was arrested by Officer Thomas Lutz at 2:32 am on Lackawanna Plaza for an active $250.00 warrant out of Atlantic City, NJ. Mr. Laborde was released ROR with a new court date pending.
3/11/2015 – Carlos Vidreiro, Jazmine Kelly and Joseph Lento all age 18 and all from Belleville, NJ were arrested along with 2 juveniles ages 15 and 17 on the 200 block of Davey St. and charged with being under the influence of CDS, marijuana. Officers Anthony Litterio, Matthew Popowicz and Ana Ruiz made the arrest after a citizen complaint led them to the suspects.
3/12/2015 – Adel Howard age 27 from East Orange was arrested by Officers Keron Piper and Nadar Sarabamoun at 7:27 pm on Maolis Ave. for active warrants out of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department and Riverside County California.Mr. Howard was processed and transported to the Essex County Jail.
3/12/2015 – Stephany Villafuente age 20 from Kearney was arrested by Officers Anthony Litterio and Odilio Say at 7:42 pm on the 200 block of Davey St. after a motor vehicle stop led to the discovery of a substance in her possession, believed to be marijuana. Ms. Villafuente was processed, charged with Possession of CDS, marijuana under 50 grams, issued summonses for Possession of CDS, marijuana in a motor vehicle and Driving while suspended befor being released with a new court date pending.
3/12/2015 – Sheldon Mighty age 31 from East Orange, NJ was arrested by Officer Caesar Mazzeo at 8:53 pm on Arlington Ave. after a motor vehicle stop led to the discovery of an active $500.00 warrant out of Whippany, NJ. Mr. Mighty was processed and was released after posting bail.
3/13/2015 – Jonathan Nieves age 23 from Bloomfield was arrested by Officers Michael Decker and Frank Falco at 8:50 pm on Farrand St. after a motor vehicle stop led to the discovery of 2 active warrants, Bloomfield, $500.00 and Belleville, $250.00. Mr. Nieves was processed and released ROR on both warrants with new court dates pending.
3/13/2015 – Anthony Walker age 46 from Newark was arrested by Officers Gemner Rosales and Raymond Diaz at 11:27 pm after allegedly shoplifting $302.11 worth of merchandise from the Stop & Shop, 8 Franklin St. Mr. Walker was processed and released ROR with a court date pending.
3/14/2015 – Daniel Torres age 43 from Bloomfield was arrested by Sgt. Julio Lopez at 2:43 am on the 100 block of Liberty St. after a motor vehicle stop led to the discovery of an active $1081.00 warrant out of Clifton, NJ. Mr. Torres was processed and released after posting bail.
3/14/2015 – Christopher Rubestello age 34 from Totowa was arrested by Officer Victor Gonzalez at 10:31 am on Belleville Ave. and charged with:
Possession of hypodermic needles Being under the influence of CDS
Mr. Rubestello was released ROR and turned over to the care of a local medical facility for treatment, with a court date pending.
3/14/2015 – Sherritta Whyte age 60 from East Orange, NJ was arrested by Officers Christian Alvarado and Luca Piscitelli at 1:21 pm for allegedly shoplifting $102.80 worth of merchandise from the Stop & Shop, 8 Franklin St. Ms. Whyte was processed and released ROR with a court date pending.
3/14/2015 – Michelle Falco age 34 of Bloomfield and Anthony Rotonda age 34 also from Bloomfield were both arrested by Officers JoVincent Emperio and Robert Kish at 8:26 pm on the property of 72 Bloomfield Ave. after an investigation into an illegally parked vehicle led to the discovery of a substance believed to be marijuana in their possession as well as some items believed to be drug paraphernalia. Both parties were processed and charged with:
Possession of Drug paraphernalia Possession of CDS, marijuana under 50 grams.
A court date is pending
3/15/2015 – James Hayek age 34 from Paterson was arrested by Officer Meljunn Pascua at 2:31 am on the 500 block of Bloomfield Ave. for an active warrant out of Pequannock, NJ. Mr. Hayek was processed and released ROR.
3/16/2015 – Andre Clark age 20 from Belleville was arrested by Officers Matthew Popowicz and Anthony Litterio at 6:59 pm on the 200 block of Montgomery St. and charged with possession of CDS, marijuana under 50 grams. Mr. Clark was processed and released ROR with a court date pending.
