Name: Fred Parvaneh
Where do you live? Until a week ago I lived at 86 Gates Ave Montclair for 2.5 years. But moved back to my old residence in Mendham, NJ.
When did you move there? See above.
Where did you grow up? I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. Attended an International School and upon graduating from high school came to the USA and went to Bucknell University. The last time I was in Iran was the summer of my college freshman year in 1976. I subsequently became a USA Citizen and have lived in Boston, Los Angeles, New York City, Maplewood, Basking Ridge, Gladstone, Livingston, Montclair and Mendham.
How do you make a living? I studied Civil and Structural Engineering in college but Life took me on a different professional path. I have been in the Mortgage business since 1987.
Coffee, tea or … ? I start my day with coffee, I like a midday tea and occasionally a happy hour cocktail.
What’s your idea of a perfect Saturday? Perfect Saturday would be to spend with my two sons (both in college now) either seeing a movie, going to a restaurant, or a concert, play etc…
What’s your favorite local restaurant? Pig & Prince.
What’s on your nightstand? The Jewels of Allah by Dr. Nina Ansary
What are you listening to? I like alternative rock. My current favorite album is the new one from Made In Heights. I’m a huge fan of London Grammar.
What are your current addictions? Hmmm… Anything to do with my iPhone, social sites like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and hot dogs!Check out my fan page on Facebook under “Fred’s Dog House”
Talent you would most like to have. I played the bass guitar when I was a teenager. I would have liked to excel on the piano.
What’s the worst-kept secret about Montclair? Stephen Colbert is a resident.
What do you hope they say about you at your funeral? Share my happy and fun memories and make jokes about me.
