PRI YardSale 6.2015Pitty Rescue, Inc., a charitable nonprofit rescue organization, is holding a summer yard sale to help raise funds for the dogs currently residing in its two rescue locations of New Jersey and North Carolina. The summer yard sale will take place on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 9 am to 3 pm both days at Paradise Pet Store, located at 48 West Passaic Avenue in Bloomfield.

Pitty Rescue is asking for donations of clean, functional and appropriate items for resale prior to the yard sale. Donated items can be dropped off at Paradise Pet Store during regular business hours. Please refrain from donating clothes or tiny knick-knacks for the yard sale.

“We appreciate all the donations and support from our friends in the community who help the animals at Pitty Rescue and other rescues in need,” remarked Gina Ugaro, co-chair of the yard sale and Acting Operations Lead For North East. “Every donation counts and every dollar goes towards the care and supplies for the dogs.”

Jeff and Diana Coltenback, owners of Paradise Pet Store and founders of Pitty Rescue recently expanded the rescue to North Carolina. Their labor of love goes beyond rescue. The Coltenbacks and their volunteer team ensure the dogs are properly trained and cared for, and there is due diligence done prior to entrusting an individual or family with the life-long commitment of adopting a pet.

Riley the dog“We carefully screen potential owners who have an interest in adoption,” states Jeff Coltenback, who has been working with dogs for over twenty years. “We facilitate the process by watching the dogs’ signals, visiting the potential owners’ homes, and we have sessions for both the dog and human to become more acquainted with each other.”

Currently, the no-kill Pitty Rescue, Inc has five dogs in their care. Pitty Rescue, Inc. are looking to find fosters to assist with their growing rescue, and it can always use supplies and funds to help care for the animals. Visit www.pittyrescue.org for more information on how to donate.

Sad. Let's hope that this is not its "Last Tango." One of the most beautiful and iconic buildings in town. Valentino, Garbo, Keaton must have played there.
