JR Sangiuliano, an assistant coach for the Montclair High School Mounties football team, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 24. On the Mounties Football website, Coach JR’s photo with the message “Our great coach, friend, and Brother has Passed away, he will be missed,” has been posted in his honor.
Services will take place at the Walter J. Johnson Funeral Home, 803 Raritan Rd., Clark, on Saturday, August 29 at 9 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Apostle Church, Clark at 10 am. Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm.

JR was born in Elizabeth and was a lifelong resident of Clark. He received his BA in Business Management from Rider University. He was a very dedicated football coach beginning in 1997 with Clark Pop Warner. He then went on to coach at Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark, William Paterson University, Bergen Catholic High School. He most recently was the coach at Montclair High School, where they won the last 3 state championships.
JR was a Real Estate Broker and the Owner of Century 21 JRS Realty of Clark and Rahway.
JR was the beloved husband for 12 years, of Stella (LoBrace) Sangiuliano and the devoted father of Nina and Dante. He is also survived by his parents, George Sr. and Carene (Camicia) Sangiuliano; his grandmother, Florence Camicia; his brother, Marcus Sangiuliano and his wife Danielle and his uncles, Robert Sangiuliano and Thomas Camicia.
