Connect, Create, & Celebrate the Launch of the Montclair Library Friends At a Party on Saturday

Montclair Library Friends

The Montclair Library Friends is a new organization launching on Saturday, September 26, to raise awareness of and expand the services and programs of the Montclair Public Library — Main Library, Bellevue Avenue Library, and the virtual library — advocate for MPL, and manage volunteer programs.

At its Connect, Create, Celebrate event both branches will offer community celebrations featuring Montclair artists, writers, and musicians. Enjoy activities and entertainment for all ages. Musical performances by members of the Montclair Community Band, Passing Notes (Montclair High School A Capella Group), Music for Aardvarks, and Abandon Ship. Have Jennifer Levine paint your soul portrait or Justin Canha draw your favorite cartoon character. Create a life story collage with Monick David. Contribute to a Poem as Big as a Library with author Laurie Lico Albanese and the editors of the Montclair High School Phoenix Literary Journal. Listen with your kids to master storyteller Gerald Fierst or watch a puppet show by Puppet Time. Explore the Makerspace Open House and try out the 3D printer and other creative tools, gadgets and gizmos.
