The Victorian Society Presents: From Winslow Homer to Eric Carle at the Montclair Art Museum

Montclair Art Museum

Gail Stavitsky, Chief Curator at the Montclair Art Museum (MAM), will present an illustrated lecture for The Victorian Society on the many upcoming exhibits at the museum at Montclair Women’s Club on Monday, September 21.

Stavitsky earned her B.A in Art History at the University of Michigan and her M.A. and PhD at New York University’s Fine Arts Institute. Before starting her 21 year career at MAM she was curator at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh. Stavitsky says feels lucky to be working at MAM because of its unique collections and small size, which enables the museum to present in-depth exhibits that contribute something fresh to our knowledge of art history but still have popular appeal.

See what’s happening at MAM at this informative and interesting event.
