Ladies Night Out

Montclair Center invites you to its 4th annual Ladies Night Out celebration with added bonus of The Art Walk on Friday night! It’s an evening of shopping, eating, mingling and laughing with friends old and new. As always, the event is free and sure to be fun. Check in at Bow Tie Cinemas at 486 Bloomfield Avenue and end at Just Jakes Restaurant at 30 Park Street for special priced drinks and festivities!

Bernadette Peters

Broadway luminary Bernadette Peters, a three-time Tony winner and seven-time nominee, will perform her signature songs, from A Little Night Music and Gypsy to Sunday in the Park with George at NJPAc on Friday night. Peters has dazzled audiences and critics alike with her performances in concert and on stage, television and recordings.

Bike&Walk Montclair's Fall Harvest Bike Tour

Leaf peep and tour 8 of Montclair’s urban farms by bike on Saturday morning at the Bike&Walk Montclair’s Fall Harvest Bike Tour—a bicycle tour of local gardens and farms right in our backyard. You’ll meet inspiring, engaged and committed urban farmers and get a glimpse of fall harvesting, winterizing, beekeeping, raising chickens. Participating farmers include Montclair Community Farms Coalition, Montclair Public Library Friends of the Garden & Guerrilla Harvest, A Lot to Grow Community Garden at the Montclair Inn, Presby Memorial Iris Gardens Apiary and Farm, Montclair District Initiative for Gardens in Schools (DIGS), and Grace’s Organic Garden part of the Cornucopia Network.

On Saturday night, you can enjoy a night of fantastic music at The Art Garage. Montclair’s own Bern & The Brights and Hoboken’s own, Karen Kuhl Band are poised to rock the the best 50 seat BYO venue around!

Palisades Virtuosi Concert

The first of this season’s Sunday concert series at Van Vleck House & Gardens will feature Palisades Virtuosi an ensemble of three accomplished musicians performing a program of Russian Masterpieces by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Sergei Prokofiev. The Palisades Virtuosi return to Van Vleck with a fascinating selection of Russian pieces. Based in Ridgewood, New Jersey, the group has performed at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, the New York Public Library at Lincoln Center, the Stratford Music Festival, among others. They have recorded works from the traditional chamber repertory as well as new works to expand the possibilities for flute, clarinet and piano ensembles. This concert features Ron Levy, an instructor at the Cali School and an internationally acclaimed pianist, and Margaret Swinchoski, whose flute performances have been featured in solo recitals. She has served as principal flutist with the Westchester and Harrisburg Symphony Orchestras.

If Sunday night finds you in need of a good laugh, head over to Tierney’s Tavern in Montclair for Sunday Comics. Comedy Catalyst hosts this show to benefit the Run for Wounded Warriors. Special Guests Christine Grillon…with Johnny DeRisi, Kevin Dombrowski, Adam Lucidi, Samantha Stanley, and Alex Wallace. Big Rich McDonald will host. This will be a terrific show for a great cause!
