Perhaps your New Year’s resolution was to learn how to cook or improve your skills. Maybe you resolved to do more things for yourself. Either way, these local cooking classes will satisfy both goals:
Montclair Culinary Academy will offer a few fun classes for adults in the next couple of months at Designer Appliances (208 Bellevue Avenue, Upper Montclair). Learn how to make classic French dishes, transport to Italy with the Italian cooking class where you’ll make your own pizza and spaghetti and meatballs, or learn how to roll up perfect sushi.
Montclair Bread Co. (16 Lable Street, Montclair) is hosting a Doughnut Making Class on January 10. You’ll enjoy a hands-on lesson on making yeast raised & cake doughnuts, as well as how to make fillings & glazes using seasonal flavors.
Williams-Sonoma (630 Valley Road, Upper Montclair) has some great technique classes in January: Making sweet & savory crepes, knife skills, game day fare, and more.
A little farther out of Baristaville, Kings Cooking Studio in Short Hills offers great classes. In January you can take a class on nutritious cooking, 30-minute soups, Vegan Soups & stews, and many more.
