Screening of ‘Standing on My Sisters’ Shoulders’ to Celebrate the Women of the Civil Rights Movement

Celebrate the “SHEroes of the Civil Rights Movement” with a private screening of the award-winning documentary “Standing on My Sisters’ Shoulders” on Saturday, January 16 hosted by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Montclair Alumnae Chapter.

The viewing will include a panel discussion with special guests; Joan Trumpauer Mulholland, Freedom Rider and Civil Rights Activist, Colia L. Liddell Lafayette Clark, Activist and Politician, Dorie Ladner, Civil Rights Activist and Professor Brittney Copper, Assistant Professor of Africana Studies at Rutgers University and Professor Akil Khalfani, Director of the Africana Institute and Associate Professor of Sociology at Essex County College.

In addition to the film screening and panel discussion, there will be a “gallery” of images and quotes from the heroines of the Civil Rights Movement on display during the event.
