Giant Waterslide to Make a Splash in West Orange at Annual Street Fair

The West Orange Street Fair will be transformed into the biggest block party of the summer when Slide the City comes to its annual Street Fair on June 4.

Think Slip n’ Slide, but way bigger — like 1000 feet long big! The first event of its kind, Slide the City has seen massive growth since its beginnings in 2014. The 2015 summer tour stopped in over seventy cities around the world, and this year Slide the City makes its first trip to New Jersey. The wet and wild attraction will stretch across Mount Pleasant Avenue from Interstate 280 to Main Street.

“I’m thrilled the slide is coming to our town, the first in New Jersey,” West Orange Mayor Robert Parisi said. “It’s a great opportunity for the community to come together for a day of fun, visit the street fair and celebrate all West Orange has to offer.”

Admission to the street fair and Thomas Edison National Park will be free. Slide the City participants can purchase a single, triple or ultimate slider pass during a selected wave time and are encouraged to sign up online here before April 1 to take advantage of the current rate.
