After running a fun contest about some exciting news on social media all last week, Java Love Coffee Roasting Company has finally revealed its big news. The coffee roasting company, which opened in Upper Montclair in May of 2013 (Its first location is in The Catskills, NY), will open a second shop in town at 49 Church Street in Montclair Center in the former Yalo & Me space.
Co-Owner Jodie Dawson tells Baristanet that she and her partner Kristine Petrik had been keeping an eye out on the growth and “buzz” happening in Montclair Center and then the opportunity popped up. “As with most things Java Love related, we look at the open door and more often than not choose to step through it, bracing ourselves as we do each time, with a pit in our stomachs like the downward part of a roller coaster. The joy and risk fully embraced each time.”
Dawson and Petrik gathered the same team of designers and artists they used in their Upper Montclair location for the Church Street shop. Expect to see the reclaimed shipping pallets and coffee bags used to create the banquette seating, reclaimed wood from the Catskills used for shelving, chalkboard frames, and the one-of-a-kind wall art.
The Java Love on Church Street will open on Monday, March 14, with a Grand Opening celebration on Friday, April 1 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
YAY! now I’ll be able to grab coffee there when I’m on that end out town. Thanks Java Love! Can’t wait to see new space. #shoplocal
FABULOUS!! I love Java Love!!!! Even though I recently gave up caffeine, I drink their tea and sit and blog for hours. I even go there for blind dates 🙂
